About
Hello!
First off, thank you for taking the time to look around my website.

I am sure you want to know more about who will be grooming your cat. My name is Barbara Yu, and I am a current resident of Monroe, CT. I grew up into my family’s business, which was sold back in 2022. There I learned how to run a business through honesty and more importantly, developing relationships with my customers. During that time I also ran a small rescue organization, Save Our Strays, Inc. for about 17 years. Many people in rescue will understand the toll it takes on your heart, so I had to step away.

After debating on what I should be doing with my life, I decided to take the leap. My training was provided by The National Cat Groomer’s Institute. NCGI offers extensive education on cats' health, safety and handling. I have completed all of my written exams, and am currently working towards all of my practical exams to become a Certified Feline Master Groomer. I also am a Fear Free Certified Professional and successfully completed requirements for Cat and Dog First Aid by the American Red Cross.

Fast forward... An ad popped up on my phone for a franchise called Happy Cat Hotel. An opportunity to board cats in their own rooms - no cages - and offer window views. What a neat concept! After some inquiry, I found out they also offered cat grooming. I gasped - I had never heard of such a thing! The owner informed me how it can get rid of hairballs and other common issues associated with cats. Well, my Timmy did have hairballs at 4:00am quite often. I booked him an appointment for a bath/blow dry and de-shed. I was nervous. He is a shy cat, was feral as a kitten... How can he survive a bath? But they do it all the time, so I trusted them. I picked him up, and he was so soft and felt lighter. Once we got home, Timmy was different. He strutted around the place, I had never seen him so comfortable and confident! I was smitten with cat grooming from that day forward.

Thank you so much for trusting me in helping you and your cat live a happier life together!
Finally, a place cats can call their own.
There are so many dog groomers everywhere. Even in pet stores, dogs get the majority of retail. In the medical field, canine medicine is more advanced than for felines. Cats have been living in the shadows of dogs for too long. It is time for them to get some of the spotlight. I love dogs, but have seen how cats are treated as underdogs in the grooming world. They also benefit from grooming like dogs do!
